Bay 1991 PRE mare 16hh
Luisillo (imp/dec’d) x Gloriana

Championship winning performance PRE mare from renown lines

I clearly remember Pampera as a yearling in 1992 when I went to La Querencia Stud to purchase my first part bred Andalusian gelding.  She was La Querencia Stud’s pride and joy, a cheeky tall brown filly that just had that something special.

Pamperita obtained her Halter ROM as a 4yo.

She competed successfully in Led & Ridden breed classes at State, National and Royal level, dressage (with Ben O’Sullivan) and low level eventing (with former mounted policewoman, Tanjil Kinch). As was the hallmark of many Luisillo progeny, Pamperita was a functional, athletic and versatile mare with a “can-do” attitude.

I believe Pampera is a lovely combination of her father’s modern type and her mother’s more classical Bodeguero lineage. Her dam, Gloriana, is a daughter of Bodeguero (imp), and a granddaughter of Escribiente IV (imp). Gloriana was an excellent producer, foaling a dozen or so foals in total, to Luisillo (imp), Bizarro XI (imp), Jaime (dec’d), Felido I (dec’d) and Felspar Carlito (dec’d).

Pamperita has, in recent years, produced a number of progeny by Manuka Montego (dec’d) and Jovial S1 (imp/dec’d) for Andaluka Park, as well as some lovely Spanish Portugese foals for Chapelhouse Lusitanoes, including a 2007 PSP colt by the imported Lusitano dressage stallion “Que Craque” that is simply outstanding.

Her full brother, Blackford Santa Domingo co-starred in “The Silver Brumby” as Thowra’s arch enemy, “The Brolga”.

He belongs to Evanne Chesson, who supplies livestock for movies. Pampera’s maternal sister, Bethungra Seville (Felido I/Gloriana) has had a successful show career, and I was fortunate enough to own another half sister, Bon Esperence Novette (Felido I/Gloriana), who had the most outstanding, trainable nature, taking to life under saddle after 10 years as a broodmare.

Acquiring Pamperita has been a real bonus for me, as I believe she will cross very well with Infante and produce true-to-type foals with excellent movement.

La Querencia Pamperita will be bred to Infante XXXVIII in September 2008.
