Our goal is clear – to breed
a PRE horse that is capable of competing in
Dressage, without changing the breed into a
WB or TB type!
Like the majority of
competitors in the sport of dressage, I am
not a professional rider, but I do enjoy the
training aspect of riding, and the
competition environment. I also like a horse
that can move with expression and freedom.
With so much confusion
surrounding classical methods and the
over-use of the term, I am hesitant to say
my horses are schooled using this method.
However, I do train my horses to be light,
forward and submissive, within the training
scale, but without force.
We imported our stallion
Infante XXXVIII in Dec 07, and mare Leyenda
XXXVIII in Jun 09. The decision to import
horses was based on the fact that I was
unable to find a quality, riding age
stallion in Australia, as most are destined
for the breeding paddock, or had undesirable
qualities.
Infante competed successfully
in Young Horse Dressage throughout Spain,
and is listed (with a rating of “excellent”)
in Spanish Agriculture’s “Recommended Young
Dressage Sires” catalogue. Leyenda XXXVIII
is a gold medal Movement winner. Both come
from unrelated sires known to transmit
tremendous movement to their progeny.
